Kickstart your Resolutions

I love Oprah. In fact, I don’t know many people who don’t share that sentiment. She seems to have this ever-present sense of understanding and knowledge that I strive to have some day. One of the many things she seems to understand is the significance of the new year. She once said, “Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.” If you’re trying to get it right in 2019, check out this list of resolutions and how you can kickstart your own right here in Farragut.

1. Eat healthier

If resetting your meal plan is top of the list for 2019, you must check out Clean Eatz. Located at the West End Shopping Center, they are open for lunch and dinner with a wide variety of options to choose from. If stopping in for every meal doesn’t fit your lifestyle, you can always choose a meal prep option, where you can purchase a certain amount of meals each week.

If a juice cleanse sounds more up your alley, stop by Clean Juice in Turkey Creek. They just opened in November and they offer cleanse plans in addition to smoothies and clean food options to fuel your body once you’ve completed your cleanse.

2. Exercise more

A new year is a reason to celebrate and your exercise should reflect that! Check out Campbell Station Jazzercise if that sounds like something you’re interested in; they offer a variety of classes that will get you moving! Extra bonus: you can start for $0 if you sign up during the month of January!

If jazzercise doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, check out the previous blog post, Getting Fit after Being Festive! Here you can find out just how much of a fitness hub Farragut really is.

3. Save money

If you’re anything like me, you always end up wondering where your paycheck went. Between the five-dollar coffees and impulsive purchases at the fun boutiques around town, I’m always trying to save what I can to prepare for the damage I’m sure to cause to my bank account.

One of the ways I plan on helping my bottom line is to sign up for a Costco membership. Here, the prices are incredibly competitive and building up a surplus of toilet paper will keep me from spending too much purchasing this item at other stores. You can even find the best PJs there, too 😉

4. Be more intentional + present

A resolution that I keep hearing is to be more intentional and present. That means laying off the phone, focusing on the now, and staying away from the “what-if” scenarios we tend to play over and over again in our minds. A great way to get into the habit of being present is heading over to Blue Ridge Yoga. Sign up for one of their classes, perhaps guided meditation or vinyasa flow. Whatever your needs are, Blue Ridge Yoga is sure to have a class that’s perfect for you. Check out their beginner’s special and get started!

5. Spend more time with friends + family

There’s nothing like huddling around a table or living room (anywhere really) with your favorite people. Some of my most valued moments are those where I’m simply with my loved ones. This community provides several opportunities to get together with your personal community and celebrate time spent together. Wanting to grab a drink? Head over to the Casual Pint for 22 rotating beers on tap or keep up with their Facebook page to see when the next Ladies Night will be!

Resolutions represent the hope for a better tomorrow, a better year, a better life. One of the best ways to ensure success is claiming your plan and putting it into existence. Comment below what your 2019 resolution is or share on social media with your resolution included in the post. Farragut is here to help you have a happier and healthier 2019!
