IT'S footBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE
Vol fans have plenty of reason to be excited this football season. With head football coach Jeremy Pruitt entering his second full season fans are looking forward to watching the Vols continue to improve under his leadership. The season kicks off with three straight home games so fans wont have to wait too long to see the team in action. This season promises to be filled with excitement and plenty of Rocky Top.
Some familiar faces will be back this season including redshirt junior quarterback Jarrett Guarantano. Guarantano started all 12 games for the Vols last season and threw for over 1900 yards with 12 touch downs and only 3 interceptions; stats like that are the reason Guarantano is on the pre-season watch list for the Maxwell Award. Peyton Manning is the only Vol every to have won the prestigious Maxwell award when he was honored in 1997.
Another player to watch is redshirt senior linebacker Darrell Taylor. Taylor returns to the grid iron after a 2018 season that included 8 sacks, which is the most of any returning player in the SEC. Opposing quarterbacks should keep their eyes open for #19 all season long.
